„Die Woche“ reaches a large part of the German-speaking community throughout Australia. Every Monday night we send the printed newspaper and on Tuesday mornings the electronic version is sent as a PDF file to our subscribers. In addition, roughly 400 newspaper shops in all states and territories purchase and sell this continent’s only German-language newspaper.
The first edition of „Die Woche“ was published more than 60 years ago and has persevered through difficult times as well as having enjoyed many successful times. Together with his partner Marion and a number of colleagues, Dieter assumed editorial responsibility for the newspaper in 2017. Now, with the help of our readers, we have reached the point we aimed for – we offer the German-speaking community in Australia a weekly reliable, serious and independent newspaper: A newspaper they can trust.
The number of readers is slowly but steadily increasing, and we are also moving step by step towards an online edition of the newspaper, which will be published in addition to the printed edition. This is likely to be very beneficial for younger readers in particular. Even now, more and more of our subscribers prefer not to have the newspaper sent to them on paper or to buy it from a newspaper dealer, but instead to purchase the electronic (PDF) version from us.
